Abstract

The article pretend to relate productivity and subject in the neoliberal context. For this purpose, concepts of neoliberalism, productive subject, self entrepreneurial and self-surveillance are contemplated.

Neoliberalism, being a new rationality based on the universality of the general principle of competition in all areas of the subject's life, acts in his or her heart and, through efficiency devices, introduces aspects of efficiency and production typical of companies.

The subject, then, permeated by the conception of freedom, acts to achieve his own effectiveness and works without having the perception of situations of exploitation or miserability. Unemployment, unqualification, misery and lack of status have no other vectors than the individual's own lack of effort.

Thus, the new subject is not compelled to increase productivity, he himself emanates the norm of competition and blames himself in case of failure.
